Learning Objectives: 

1. Understand how the 3 Core Sciences (biology, chemistry, physiology) in the oral cavity influence the caries process & impact tooth remineralization.
2. Learn the Laws of Biofilm as the core etiologic & biological obstacle in caries prevention.
3. Understand the composition of saliva, including its function, composition, fabrication, dynamic changes & impact on tooth remineralization.
4. Learn the Stern Layer Model of remineralization including its chemical properties, its mechanisms of action & its practical relevance to tooth structure in the oral cavity.
5. Create strategies for caries prevention tailored to your patients' needs based on the Activity, Stability & Exchange (ASE) System.
6. Apply your accumulative knowledge to understand how current ingredients in oral health products can either aid or hinder existing systems.
