Meet Dr. Ryan Nolan, DMD
Dr. Nolan is a general dentist, clinical researcher, product formulator & former adjunct professor. He attended the University of Illinois in 2010 where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry Magna Cum Laude followed by Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine for his DMD degree in 2014.
In addition to over a decade of clinical chairside dentistry, Dr. Nolan has over a decade's worth of experience as an independent formulator for products including oral healthcare products, food goods & beauty products.Â
His research focuses on the development of novel nanomaterials for use in preventative dentistry. He has published a wide scope of topics including toxicology, remineralization dynamics & nanotechnology. He is currently the Chief Science Officer for Elementa Oral Care, and the Founder of the Cariology Institute and spends his time working on salivary diagnostics, developing and expanding preventative CE and modernizing anti-caries strategies.
Meet Dr. Jenny Vitez, DMD
Dr. Jenny Vitez, DMD is a general dentist practicing in the California Central Coast with over 16 years of clinical experience. She graduated from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2009.
Throughout her career, Dr. Vitez has provided a wide scope of clinical services for patients of all ages from private practice to the Medicaid System to public health & even the federally qualified healthcare system including the Ryan White Program. She also taught dental students on 3rd year & 4th year externship rotations as a Clinical Adjunct Faculty professor at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Vitez utilizes her knowledge from hundreds of continuing education hours to provide the best quality care for her patients, including education from the prestigious Kois Center. It was her completion of the Modern Cariology 1 curriculum that ignited her passion for educating Preventative Dentistry that elevated her to the status of Mentor here at the Cariology Institute.
Meet Carinne Hawley, RDH, MPH, CPH
Carinne Hawley is a registered dental hygienist with 25 years of experience in dentistry. She graduated from the Oxnard College Dental Hygiene program with her RDH degree in 2002 & from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with her Masters in Public Health in 2008.
Throughout her career she has held a variety of roles spanning clinical practice,
education, research, leadership, and coaching, which she continues through her
Empowering Smiles platform. She also volunteers monthly at her local free dental clinic.
The study of cariology complements Carinne's passion for prevention & her desire to help clinicians sift through the noise, think critically & confidently guide their patients toward health.
